グローバル活動（国際交流）

本校では、筑波大学が推進するグローバル人材の育成を小学校領域から実践することを目指した教育活動を行っています。
世界各国から筑波大学に研究や留学をしている外国人の方との交流会を、中・高学年を中心に行っています。交流会は学級ごとに実施され、4人グループに１人の外国人ゲストを迎えて、個々の関わりを高める工夫をしています。英語のポスター自己紹介や、ゲストの国や文化のプレゼンテーションを聞いたり、児童が日本文化を紹介したりする活動などを行っています。
　また、日米児童交流会はアメリカの現地校との交流を中心に、英語で授業を受け、休み時間やランチタイムを現地の子どもたちと一緒に過ごしたりするなど、留学体験ができる機会を設けています。現段階では希望者の参加ですが、これまでサンフランシスコ、ハワイなどで交流会が実施され、普段は経験することのできない場で学びを深めています。
　いずれの活動も、英語を使った実践的なコミュニケーション体験はもちろん、異文化理解を高める貴重な機会となっています。

Global activities (international exchange)

    The school carries out educational activities aimed at putting into practice the development of global human resources promoted by the University of Tsukuba, starting in the primary schools area.
Exchange meetings with foreigners from all over the world who are doing research or studying at the University of Tsukuba are held mainly in the middle and upper grades. Exchange meetings are held in each class, with one foreign guest per group of four, in an effort to enhance individual involvement. Activities include poster self-introductions in English, listening to presentations on the guest’s country and culture, and the children introducing Japanese culture.
　In addition, the Japan-US Children’s Exchange Programme focuses on exchanges with local schools in the USA, providing opportunities for students to experience studying abroad by taking classes in English and spending recess and lunchtimes with local children. At the present stage, only those who wish to participate can do so, but so far exchange events have been held in San Francisco, Hawaii and other places, allowing students to deepen their learning in settings they would not normally be able to experience.
　All of these activities provide valuable opportunities to enhance cross-cultural understanding as well as practical communication experiences using English.
